Intersection improvements coming to Major Mackenzie Drive West and Thomas Cook Avenue

York Region is installing new traffic signals at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Thomas Cook Avenue in the City of Vaughan. Traffic signals will manage increasing traffic volumes with the new Carrville Community Centre. 

Duration: Mid-August to October 2025

Impacts to travellers

The road will remain open to through traffic; however, temporary lane restrictions are required:

  • Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Access to homes and businesses will be maintained

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. Thank you for your patience during the construction period. We understand construction creates challenges for the community and we are working to deliver this project with minimal disruption.
