Road Closure on Mount Albert Road at Highway 48

Mount Albert Road at Highway 48 in the Town of East Gwillimbury will be closed starting Wednesday, August 13 for approximately nine weeks to facilitate work on the existing bridge structures and for the reconstruction of the Highway 48 and Mount Albert Road intersection. Local traffic will be maintained between McCowan Road and Highway 48. This closure is being led by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO).

Impacts to travellers

• Westbound traffic will be restricted to northbound or southbound turns at Highway 48, with no through traffic permitted
• Eastbound traffic on Mount Albert Road at Highway 48 is restricted
• Southbound Highway 48 at Mount Albert Road remains open
• Northbound Highway 48 at Mount Albert Road no westbound turns permitted
• Signs will be in place to guide travellers

As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather or to accommodate other work underway in the area. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
