Notice of construction on Leslie Street from Highway 407 to Elgin Mills Road East
Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future.
Duration: Late spring 2025 to late summer 2025
Description:
- Removing and replacing asphalt road surface on Leslie Street from Highway 407 to Elgin Mills Road East
- Adjusting manholes and catch basins
- Repairing curbs and steel beam guide rails that provide a barrier between the roadway and potentially hazardous situations to ensure they meet current standards while increasing safety for road users

Impacts to travellers
- The road will remain open to through traffic; however, temporary lane closures are required
- Monday to Saturday nights from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. for major work such as paving
- Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for minor work such as repairing curbs and guide rails
- Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. Thank you for your patience during the construction period. We understand construction creates challenges for the community and we are working to deliver this project with minimal disruption.
