Intersection improvements coming to Bayview Avenue and Bethesda Sideroad

York Region is improving the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Bethesda Sideroad to help manage increasing traffic volumes and reduce delays. This project will be completed in two phases beginning this fall. 

Duration:

• Phase one - September to November 2025
• Phase two - Summer 2026

The first phase of work includes:

• Installing new traffic signals at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Bethesda Sideroad 

The second phase of work begins in 2026 and includes: 

Intersection improvements

• Widening and realigning the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Anchusa Drive to install new traffic signals and left turn and right turn lanes 

Multi-use path installations

• West side of Bayview Avenue from Bayview Park Lane to Bloomington Road
• Bayview Park Lane from Bayview Avenue to Sandbanks Drive
• Bethesda Sideroad from Bayview Avenue to Anchusa Drive
• Connections to Oak Ridges Community Centre

These improvements will help manage increasing traffic volumes and reduce delays.

Impacts to travellers:

The road will remain open to through traffic; however, lane restrictions are required:

• Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained. Entrances to Lake Wilcox will remain open; however, travellers may experience delays due to construction. 

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. Thank you for your patience during the construction period.
