Median reconstruction on Wellington Street in Aurora

Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future.

York Region is reconstructing a median and painting pavement markings on Wellington Street east of Elyse Court.

Duration: Early May 2025 to late May 2025

Impacts to travellers 

  • The road will remain open to through traffic; however, temporary lane closures are required
    • Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Access to homes and businesses will be maintained 

As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. Thank you for your patience during the construction period. We understand construction creates challenges for the community and we are working to deliver this project with minimal disruption.
