Notice of Construction and Side Street Closures in the City of Vaughan

Improvements to Major Mackenzie Drive from Jane Street to Keele Street are underway to accommodate growth and provide more travel options.

Description

  • Paving on Major Mackenzie Drive from Gram Street to east of Keele Street
  • Paving at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street

This work is part of the road improvement project, Major Mackenzie Drive from Jane Street to Keele Street, which is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Impacts to Travellers

  • Intermittent daytime closures at the intersections of:
    • Major Mackenzie Drive and Gram Street
    • Major Mackenzie Drive and Jackson Street
    • Keele Street and Church Street
    • Major Mackenzie Drive and Richmond Street
  • Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction on both Major Mackenzie Drive and Keele Street. Left turn lanes will also be temporarily restricted
  • Signs, flag people and police will direct traffic

Duration

Intermittent closures will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 and Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
