2023 Community Report Now Available
The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) has released the 2023 Community Report on york.ca/annualreports
Each year the Community Report is developed to demonstrate progress in the 2023 to 2027 Strategic Plan: From Vision to Results priorities, release detailed financial statements related to the Region’s budget and feature Regional accomplishments and awards.
The report details how capital, reserve and debt management help the Region achieve long-term financial sustainability. It also explains how tax dollars, investments and borrowed funds are used responsibly to provide quality services to a diverse and growing community of over 1.25 million residents.
Key Accomplishments
- 9,945 housing completions
- 100% of water samples met provincial standards
- Over 380,000 tonnes of waste processed
- 92,473 incidents responded to by York Region paramedics
- $3.5 million in stolen vehicles recovered by York Regional Police
- 116, 175 trees and shrubs planted
- $7.8 million in savings and costs efficiencies identified
- Opened one new paramedic response station, 265 affordable housing units and a new youth transitional housing building
York Region will continue to report on the Strategic Plan priorities and the effects of the budget in the community to ensure that residents have a clear understanding of the outcomes of our prudent fiscal strategy.
