York Region Transit fare changes are coming July 1, 2025
In November 2024, York Regional Council approved a 3% transit fare increase effective July 1, 2025, as part of the 2025 budget. The fare increase will help cover rising operating costs due to high inflation and support delivery of transit services throughout the Region. Over the next several years, York Region Transit will continue to make investments to improve service for travellers.
Discounted fares continue to be offered through the PRESTO card, PRESTO E-Tickets and PRESTO in Mobile Wallet. In addition, YRT offers several discount and fare assistance programs such as the Transit Assistance Program (TAP), One Fare, Ride to GO and Fare Capping Program.
