Join us at Family Fun Day during National Public Works Week

National Public Works Week is celebrated May 18 to May 24, 2025, and is recognized across North America as an opportunity to showcase public works’ services and how they connect and support communities.
This year’s theme is ‘People, Purpose, Presence,’ highlighting three cornerstone ideals that motivate public works professionals to serve in their community every day.
Celebrate National Public Works Week at the Family Fun Day open house event on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 80 and 90 Bales East in the Town of East Gwillimbury. The Public Works Operations Centre and Paramedic Services building are hosting a range of activities, including:
- Interactive displays with information about roads, transit, water treatment and recycling, first response, emergency preparedness, health services and forest conservation
- Public Works trucks and equipment
- Photos with our mascots
- Children’s activities, including an obstacle course and face painting
- Interactive displays
- Paint-a-Plow blade showcase – vote on designs by participating schools
- Paid barbecue lunch hosted by the Holland Landing Lions Club
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated Public Works staff for all their hard work to ensure the smooth operation of essential services that keep our communities safe, clean and thriving. From maintaining our roads and water systems to managing emergency responses and environmental conservation, their work is vital to our daily lives. Thank you for your commitment and hard work.
