Highway 11 Improvements - Spring Update
York Region is improving Highway 11 between Morning Sideroad and Bathurst Street in the Town of East Gwillimbury and the Township of King. Project benefits include better road conditions, intersection upgrades, culvert and storm sewer replacements, a new pedestrian signal, street lighting and a multi-use path.

The 2025 construction season will include:
- Reconstructing Highway 11 from Morning Sideroad to Bathurst Street, including centre median removal
- Upgrading intersections at Bathurst Street and at Morning Sideroad to meet accessibility standards, including audible pedestrian signals and tactile walking surfaces
- Installing a new traffic signal north of Crimson Way at the entrance to the commercial development • Installing a pedestrian signal at Blue Door Services
- Building a multi-use path and retaining wall on the east side from Morning Sideroad/Yonge Street to Dog Wood Boulevard and installing new lighting
- Replacing culverts that allow water to pass freely under the road
This improvement project is expected to be completed in late 2025. As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
Impacts to travellers
- Lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction
- Some night work may be required
- Access will be maintained for all driveways/entrances
