Notice of Night Paving and Side Street Closures King Road
Side street closures are required to complete night paving on King Road between Yonge Street and Bond Crescent in the City of Richmond Hill.
Description
- Side street closures are required for night paving as part of the King Road improvement project
- During night paving, access to King Road will be restricted from Bond Crescent, McCachen Street, Parker Avenue, Shaver Street, Hughes Street and Schomberg Road
Duration: Monday, July 21, 2025, until Friday, July 25, 2025, during the hours of 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Impacts to residents and travellers
- All traffic will need to detour around the closures
- Access will be maintained for emergency services and all driveways/entrances
- King Road will be open to traffic with lane restrictions
- Signs will guide travellers
As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather and York Region will provide advance notice where possible.

Construction on King Road between Yonge Street and Bond Crescent is expected to be completed in summer 2025. York Region is improving the condition of the road and replacing aging infrastructure, ensuring safer travel. King Road is reduced to one lane in each direction throughout the project.
