York Region battling potholes after harsh winter

This winter we have seen more amounts of snow and colder temperatures than previous years, taking a serious toll on our roads. Severe weather conditions caused an unprecedented number of potholes on Regional roads in need of repair.
York Region’s dedicated road crews are ready for the challenge, patrolling 24/7 to spot and prioritize repairs. With the snow melting and temperatures rising above 0°C, pothole repairs are in full swing. Our patrol trucks are equipped with enhanced AI capabilities that are continuously scanning and flagging potholes, helping us ensure we repair them efficiently and effectively. While our crews are working hard filling potholes, repairing shoulders and making other improvements, please focus on road safety for them and slow down driving around work zones.
Our commitment to regular preventative maintenance, including these crucial pothole repairs, extends the life of our roads and minimizes the need for emergency repairs. Together, we're paving the way to smoother, safer travel for all road users.
Travellers can report a pothole or a problem on Regional roads through the Report a Problem App or by contacting 1-877-464-9675 ext. 75200 or email @email
