Description

  • Completing the rehabilitation of a 1.5 km section of the York Durham Sewage System (YDSS) on 16th Avenue in the City of Markham
  • Temporary westbound lane closure along 16th Avenue, between Markham Road and Fincham Avenue is needed to repave and restore the road

Duration

  • Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Friday, August 23, 2024 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Impacts

  • Follow the posted detour routes; 16th Avenue between Markham Road and Fincham Avenue will be open to local traffic only
  • Access to all businesses along 16th Avenue, between Markham Road and Fincham Avenue will be maintained and there are no planned impacts to your water or wastewater services
  • Pedestrians are advised to follow directional signs

There will be construction-related noise and dust, though every effort to minimize it will be made. As with all construction projects, some work may be rescheduled due to weather or other conditions. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. We understand temporary closures are disruptive; thank you for your patience while we complete this vital upgrade work.
