Keswick Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades - Construction Update

The Regional Municipality of York is upgrading the Keswick Sewage Pumping Station in the Town of Georgina. As part of the upgrades, York Region will build two new sanitary forcemains that will connect the Keswick Sewage Pumping Station to the Keswick Water Resource Recovery Facility. The forcemains were installed using a trenchless technology called microtunnelling.

To support construction activities, a temporary above-ground bypass pipe was installed along the north side of Richmond Park Drive and Springwater Drive. The bypass work is complete and the bypass pipe will be removed.

When: 

Monday, August 28, 2023

• Work will begin at 8 a.m. and be complete by 6 p.m.

What you can expect:

The above-ground bypass will be removed and your driveway will be temporarily restored and permanent restoration of your driveway (asphalt) will be completed at a later date. This work will occur over one day.

• There will be no access to your driveway during the bypass removal; however, on-street parking is permitted on Springwater Drive
• There will be no impact to your water or wastewater services
• The Queensway South and Richmond Park Drive will remain open to traffic; Springwater Drive will be open to local traffic only
• There will be construction-related noise due to the operation of equipment
