Notice of Road Closure - 19th Avenue in Richmond Hill

19th Avenue will be closed from Bayview Avenue to Leslie Street for culvert and drainage work. This work is part of 19th Avenue widening and improvements. The closure is necessary to complete the work and ensure the safety of travellers and workers.

Road Closure Duration: Monday, September 8, 2025 to Saturday, September 13, 2025, between the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Impacts to residents and travellers

All traffic will need to detour around the closures
Access to driveways/entrances will be maintained
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles
Signs will guide travellers
Traffic during the daytime continues to be reduced to a single lane

Construction on 19th Avenue started in summer 2025 and is expected to be completed in fall 2027.

As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather or other conditions. York Region will provide advance notice where possible. For information and updates, visit york.ca/19thAvenue
