Intersection improvements at Box Grove Bypass north of Rizal Avenue
Transportation improvements prepare York Region to meet the needs of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users today and into the future. York Region is installing a new pedestrian signal at Box Grove Bypass north of Rizal Avenue.
- Installing traffic signals and activating buttons for pedestrians to push
- Zebra crosswalk markings to enhance crosswalk visibility
- Enhancing audible pedestrian signals and tactile walking surface indicators to alert people with low or no vision of an upcoming intersection
- This work will benefit the community by increasing safety for pedestrians
Duration: May 2025 to August 2025

Impacts to travellers
The road will remain open to through traffic; however, lane restrictions are required:
- Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Access to homes and businesses will be maintained
As with all construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice where possible.
