For more than 20 years, Housing York Inc. (HYI) has provided quality community housing, fostering vibrant and inclusive neighbourhoods across York Region.

As York Region’s largest community housing operator, HYI proudly manages a diverse portfolio of townhomes and apartment buildings, located across all nine cities, townships and towns. HYI is committed to inclusivity and accessibility, offering housing solutions for seniors, families, individuals with diverse abilities and multilingual residents within supportive communities.

What we Offer

  • Market Rent Housing: Market rent rates are based on current rates in the private market. There are 17 HYI locations that offer market rent units
  • Subsidized Housing: Subsidized housing is available for those who qualify based on income and need
