Celebrating a Remarkable Milestone at York Region’s Long-Term Care Homes

There are few milestones as extraordinary as turning 100 years old.

This September, residents, families, staff and community members came together at Newmarket Health Centre and Maple Health Centre to celebrate nine residents who have reached the remarkable age of 100 years or older.

The special events honoured the lives, experiences and contributions of these centenarians, whose stories span a century of history, change and resilience.

At York Region's long-term care homes, milestone celebrations bring people together to create meaningful experiences and foster a sense of community. They offer residents a chance to share their stories, connect with others and celebrate the lives they have lived.

The events also highlighted the dedication of staff, volunteers and families who helped make these celebrations possible. Together, they created occasions that reflect the unique personalities and journeys of each resident.
