Support Our Seniors – Spread the Word About Free Dental Care
York Region is committed to the health and well being of older adults, and a healthy smile is a great place to start! Supporting ongoing oral health helps reduce emergency visits and improve overall quality of life. Regular dental care contributes to comfort, confidence and can prevent pain, infections and more serious health issues.
Through the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP), eligible seniors can access free routine dental services such as exams, cleanings, fillings and more. York Region’s Seniors Dental clinics are ready to serve, with no current wait times for routine or emergency services.
It starts with a simple application at ontario.ca/SeniorsDental. Once approved, seniors receive their program card in the mail and can call to book an appointment at a York Region Seniors Dental clinic or with a partnering community dentist. Care is matched based on location and availability.
Senior Dental clinics are located across York Region, helping seniors access the care they need close to home. Clients and their caregivers can expect supportive, respectful, and high-quality service. When a senior cannot wait for the standard process due to urgent dental pain or infection, emergency care is available. They can attest to their eligibility and receive timely treatment without waiting for their application to be finalized.
OSDCP is an Ontario wide program, separate from the Canadian Dental Care Plan. The two programs can be used together. Seniors who qualify are encouraged to apply for both.
To learn more, seniors and their caregivers can check eligibility or begin the application process at york.ca/SeniorsDental or by calling 1-877-464-9675. York Region is here to help every step of the way, ensuring all seniors have the opportunity to age well with support and a healthy smile.
