Overnight intersection closures on Highway 11
York Region is improving Highway 11 from Morning Sideroad to Bathurst Street in the Town of East Gwillimbury and Township of King. Project benefits include better road condition, intersection upgrades, culvert and storm sewer replacements, a new pedestrian signal, street lighting and a multi-use path.
Overnight intersection closures are required for paving and culvert replacement.
Closure #1 - Highway 11 at Morning Sideroad
- Friday, October 3, 2025 at 9:00 p.m. to Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Closure #2 - Highway 11 at Yonge Street
- Friday, October 17, 2025 at 9:00 p.m. to Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
Impacts to travellers:
- Traffic will detour around the closures
- Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and for all driveways/entrances
- Signs will be in place to guide travellers
- Highway 11 remains reduced to one lane in each direction from Morning Sideroad to Bathurst Street
- Police will be on site to help direct traffic
As with all road construction projects, work may be rescheduled due to weather. York Region will provide advance notice whenever possible.
