Notice of Field Studies in the Town of Newmarket
York Region is expanding the York Durham Sewage System across the Towns of East Gwillimbury, Newmarket, Aurora, Ajax and the Cities of Richmond Hill, Markham and Pickering in accordance with the Supporting Growth and Housing in York and Durham Regions Act, 2022. This work includes new or expanding wastewater sewers, pumping stations and enhancements to the Duffin Creek Water Pollution Control Plant.
Duration: September 2025 to December 2029
Description
- York Region is expanding the York Durham Sewage System
- As part of this project, water level monitoring equipment will be installed in the Town of Newmarket at Bailey Ecological Park, north of St. John’s Sideroad, south of Jelley Avenue and north of Kensit Avenue
- Staff will be on foot installing the data loggers that will provide monthly data on water levels in preparation for the Aurora Sewage Pumping Station gravity sewer twinning
