Temporary Road Closure on Toll Road from Bathurst Street to Canal Road

York Region has begun urgent repairs to the Holland River Bridge, at the boundary of the Township of King and Bradford West Gwillimbury. The bridge is jointly owned by York Region and Simcoe County.

This is a highly travelled corridor and York Region is working to complete this critical work to ensure the structural integrity of the bridge. To assist with traffic control, flow and the safety of all road users throughout construction, a temporary road closure and additional traffic restrictions are required in the surrounding area.

Duration: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 to late December 2025

Impacts to travellers

Temporary road closure

• Toll Road from Bathurst Street to Canal Road will be closed from Tuesday, October 14 to late December 2025
  • Local traffic is permitted to access their properties but all other traffic must use an alternative route
  • This road closure will assist in maintaining the integrity of the road and increase safety for Toll Road residents

Additional traffic restrictions 

• No left turns will be permitted from Highway 11 onto Canal Road
• No left turns will be permitted from Canal Road to Bridge Street, except farm vehicles
• No stopping is permitted:
  • On Canal Road between Bridge Street and Pumphouse Road
  • On Pumphouse Road near Graham Sideroad to the south and near Canal Road to the north
  • On Graham Sideroad at and just east of Graham Sideroad
