Registration for the 2026 York Region Tree Bee is open!

Run by Forests Canada, the Tree Bee program inspires kids to learn about trees, forests and the environment in a fun competition with prizes to be won.

The virtual competition is open to:

• Teachers and guardians of students in grades 4 to 6
• Community groups and libraries who offer programming to 9 to 12 year olds

The virtual competition will be held on Monday, November 23 to Sunday, November 29, 2026. Resources and activity sheets will be available to help kids prepare for the competition.

Teams must be made up of a minimum of two participants to a maximum of 35.  The first-place team will receive a plaque and prize pack and be invited to the Governor General’s House for a tree lighting ceremony in December! A digital certificate and prize pack will be awarded to the second and third-place teams.
